Port Townsend Jam

A Contact Improvisation Retreat at Fort Worden State Park, December 16–20, 2026 (Wednesday–Sunday). Join dancers from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond for five days of movement, connection, and creative exploration immersed in the stillness and quiet of nature.

What to Expect

Five days unfold through shared labs, deep‑dive intensives, and spacious jams that invite exploration and embodied play.

Every level of experience has a place here, from curious beginners to long‑time practitioners ready to refine and expand their practice.

Surrounded by Fort Worden’s ocean‑side forests, your dancing is enriched by the presence of beaches, winding paths, and the wildlife that animates the landscape.

Hosted Lodging Details

Exceptionally this year, there is no housing available at Fort Worden due to work they expect to have done. However, there are many local Port Townsend attendees who often house people, and many other comparably priced hotels and Airbnb options. The list of hotels is provided and contains all those available at the time of the search, and the prices listed are for the period of the PT Jam (Dec. 16-20).

More info here.

Important note: All jam and workshop deposits and payments are non-refundable. However, placement can often be sold to others wishing to attend if attendance is not possible.
